History is all around us in Riley County.

Before barbed wire was available or affordable, fences in this area were made of stone.

Looking down this fence row, you can see both the old stone fence, and the modern (although leaning) barbed wire fence.

This fence row is out toward the Stockdale area on the west side of Tuttle Creek Reservoir.
