Rural Riley County is home to a few rural churches that are still viable. One of these is the Sedalia Church, located to north-west of Manhattan on Highway 24.

The church was dedicated in January, 1900. The church and community grew, but as is the case with many small communities, things died down. The church was shuttered. However, it was re-opened in 1964. The circumstances around this is very interesting.

You can check out the history of the church at www.sedaliachurch.com.

Rural communities and churches are just another great aspect of Life in Riley County.
